Becoming A Live-In Foster Parent
Unison Treatment Homes for Youth Inc., has been providing residential foster care for youth 8-18 in the Windsor-Essex, Ontario area since 2000. Our homes are designed to provide a family atmosphere with caring positive parenting; skills coaching and lifelong memories to children and youth in need. We operate as parent model homes with staff support; providing youth with life skills development, recreational opportunities and access to a broad scope of community resources and clinical services to support health and successful personal growth.
We welcome applicants of all backgrounds, individual applicants as well as couples, with a variety of skills and experiences. Our homes include support staff who can assist and provide relief for the foster parents, and Case Managers who follow the course of goals for the youth in care. Foster Parents will receive training and ongoing opportunities for professional development to help better prepare them for the youth we serve. Foster parents receive a generous tax-free monthly stipend, with all living expenses paid. Ideal candidate(s) will have a mixture of education, life experience, valid driver’s licence, and vehicle (preferred), clear Criminal Reference Check (vulnerable sector) and physicians’ note stating you are able to work.
