Who Comes Into Care and Why?
Unison works closely with Children's Aid Societies and does not accept children privately.
All youth that we serve must first be in the care of CAS.
There are multiple scenarioes, reasons and situations that result in children and youth being brought into care through the local Children's Aid Society. In some cases it is due to abuse or neglect. It other's, it may be parent-child conflict. The goal is always to reunite families, however, while the processes for this to possibily happen are being worked out, Unison sees to the physical and emotional needs of youth in care; while facilitating various community resources to ensure that all aspects of care are made available.
